Free Taster Session: Try American Football
Join us for an exciting free taster session where newcomers can experience American football for the first time. This special event, organized by Marketing Director Ria Harman and our coaching team, is perfect for anyone curious about the sport, regardless of age or fitness level.
What to Expect
Our free taster session provides a safe, welcoming introduction to American football with no pressure or commitment required. You'll get hands-on experience with the fundamentals while learning about our club's approach to the sport.
Session Schedule
Morning Session (Ages 8-16)
- 10:00 AM - Welcome and introductions with Marketing Director Ria Harman
- 10:15 AM - Equipment fitting and safety briefing
- 10:30 AM - Flag football basics and ball handling
- 11:00 AM - Mini-game experience
- 11:30 AM - Q&A with parents and refreshments
Afternoon Session (Ages 17+)
- 1:00 PM - Adult program overview and club introduction
- 1:15 PM - Basic skills training: throwing and catching
- 1:45 PM - Introduction to formations and plays
- 2:15 PM - Light contact drills (optional)
- 2:45 PM - Discussion about joining the Pirates
Family Session
- 3:00 PM - Mixed-age flag football games
- 3:30 PM - Club facilities tour
- 4:00 PM - Refreshments and registration information
All equipment will be provided, and participants should wear comfortable athletic clothing and trainers. Light refreshments will be available throughout the day.
